Artist Statement

Life’s less noticed details are my muse. Captured moments, precious things, animals, oddities or emotions—certainly humor—I believe these things are what make life worth living. In a time when attention is diverted by a tiny screen that doles out sculpted realities and dismaying news, I think it’s important to stop and smell the flowers. To ruminate. To laugh!

Art allows me to interpret these musings, and I pull from my backgrounds in drawing—both realism and cartooning—painting and graphic design to create lively, illustrative pieces that are hard to overlook. I love to bring focus and complexity to otherwise everyday subjects. I want to share how I see these—life’s fascinating details—with you.
