Illustration, Comics and Sequential Art
I’ve loved comics and cartooning my entire life. As a child, I saw as pure magic the humor, sweetness, and utter emotional gut-punch that could be achieved through a character by Charles Schulz. I learned famous symphonies by way of Bugs Bunny, and that the rules of physics could be completely disregarded by Goofy. I spent nearly every waking moment doodling and daydreaming about becoming a cartoonist. I studied art and animation in college, but as I grew up with the comics medium, I discovered the more adult-centric genre of graphic novels by artists like Craig Thompson and Eleanor Davis: so art-forward, poignant, funny and cinematic! These books—the literal merging of drawing and writing—I hope to be part of my life’s work, too. Along that road, I’ll continue drawing and writing what comes my way! Please see a sampling of my work below, and contact me if you’d like to work together on your own comic vision! Cheers!
My favorite kind of storytelling…
