During the month of August, 2024, the Sequential Artists Workshop (SAW) held its annual challenge for comic makers, “SAWgust.” It’s a way to motivate and support cartoonists while creating some accountability for the month. It was up to us to choose our challenge and share, and for me—fresh out of their Year Long Program—I decided to go BIG and create a comic every day! It was no-holds-barred! I didn’t limit myself to theme, medium, or size—just had to create one every day and help instill in myself a daily comic-making practice. (I even came up with a fabulous character I plan to expand on, “Guy the Aye Aye!”) Below are all 31 comics in the order I created them during the month.
